Recent Raids

I know most of you are aware that RSPCA Qld Inspectors have been forced to seize numerous animals from two properties in the last month. One property near Mt Morgan had an assortment of smaller breeds including Boston Terriers, Shihtzu’s, Chihuahuas, Sharpees and mini Fox Terriers. Several of these dogs have already found homes but over twenty puppies are still on foster and will be all going through the system within a month. Please check the adoption website for details of which animals have become available. Please also understand that some of the pure bred pups will sell for slightly more than our normal puppy price. Luckily there is enormous demand for these pups and I’m afraid it has to be a case of “first in best dressed.”

In regard to the Chihuahuas that were seized west of Bundaberg last week, the situation is slightly more complex. As the owner refused to surrender the dogs to us, they now have to remain in our care until the court case. It is likely that this will not eventuate for at least six weeks. Even then there is no guarantee that we can begin re-homing them on that date. Once again I’m afraid it is a case of checking the adoption website to see if they have become available. Sadly our hands are ‘tied” legally and we will be hoping the courts act expediently.

Thank you all for your concern and interest.
