Events
Community fundraising plays an essential role in raising awareness and funds to help the 42,000 animals we care for every year. Holding your own event is a fun way to help RSPCA Qld raise vital funds.
We can guide you on running your event, and provide posters and brochures to help make your event a success. Below are a few fundraising ideas, but the possibilities are limited only by your imagination!
Community Event Ideas
Trivia night
Trivia nights are a fun way of getting groups of people together to raise funds for the RSPCA. Ask friends, family, work colleagues, clients etc. to fill tables of ten at a cost of $10 per person, for example. There could be ten rounds of ten questions with small prizes for the winning table per round and a prize for the overall winner.
Sausage Sizzle
Why not hold a sausage sizzle at your school, workplace or community group? Companies such as Bunnings and Mitre 10 will also allow you to organise one on site. Please ensure that all food provided complies with RSPCA Qld's Food Policy.
Dress down day at work
Organise a casual dress down day at work and ask participants for a gold coin donation to be donated to RSPCA Qld. To get in the spirit of fundraising, perhaps staff members could dress up as their favourite animal!
Enter a team in the Million Paws Walk
Held annually, the Million Paws Walk is a fantastic opportunity for you and your four legged best friends to participate in a healthy walk, mingle with pet owners, get involved with competitions and activities, or just enjoy the festival atmosphere with great entertainment, a variety of food and drink, exhibitor stalls and animal demonstrations.
Share the fun of the Million Paws Walk with family, friends and colleagues by entering a team in this year’s event. There are some great prizes and trophies to be won by both teams and individuals alike!
Held in 25 different locations throughout Queensland, this is the perfect day out for you and your furry family!
Barefoot lawn bowls
A set entry fee could cover food, drinks and green fees. You could also have prizes for the worst roll, best costume etc
Cook up a storm for Cupcake Day for the RSPCA
Grab your cupcake ingredients, dust off your chef’s hat, get your mixer ready - Cupcake Day for the RSPCA is back and we need YOU!
Last year, you baked over 350,000 cupcakes across Australia and raised a staggering $1,100,000 for the animals in the care and protection of the RSPCA. This year, we want to ice that total and add hundreds and thousands!
eBay auction
Got a painting with nowhere to hang it? A set of golf clubs that you just haven’t used? Put unwanted or donated items for auction on eBay and donate the money towards your fundraising goal.
Movie Nights
Cinemas can be really helpful and open their doors for a movie screening, with a percentage of ticket sales to go towards RSPCA QLD.
Guessing Competition
How many dog biscuits in a jar? (e.g. $1 donation to guess)
Self sacrifice
Make the ultimate sacrifice and give up chocolate for two months and ask your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your pledge! Or instead of buying your morning coffee or lunch, make it at home or work and donate the money you would have spent towards achieving your fundraising goal.
