"Best Buddies" Photo Competition Winner
Congratulations to Marilyn Masters of Anduramba, Queensland, who was recently chosen as the winner of the RSPCA’s nationwide “Best Buddies” photography competition for her series of three photographs entitled “Retired”.
Marilyn’s heart-warming photos were chosen because they best illustrated the special friendship that can develop between an animal and a person.
Having just commenced a Diploma of Photography, and wishing to specialise in animal photography, Marilyn’s win is a coup for her résumé, while her major prize of a top-notch Nikon D80 digital camera, valued at $2099, will help her get the perfect shot every time.
Marilyn has also won a day’s work experience with international photographer James Morgan (including travel up to the value of $300); one year of RSPCA Pet Insurance cover for one pet; a three month supply of Hill’s premium pet food and a signed copy of Petarazzi, a photographic book featuring Aussie celebrities and their pets.
Launched during RSPCA Awareness Week 2006 (1-8 October 2006), the photo competition closed on 31 December 2006, after which photographer James Morgan, picture editor Steve Moorehouse and a representative from both Nikon and the RSPCA sifted through some tough competition before judging the two old mates in Marilyn’s photographs to be “Best Buddies”.
