More than 41,000 abused, abandoned or injured animals come to RSPCA Qld needing care every year. We operate with 180 paid staff, and approximately 2,000 regular volunteers.
These are the main reasons why volunteers are the backbone and life blood of the society. Without volunteers, we would simply cease to operate.
Volunteers have been involved with the RSPCA since its earliest years, supporting the society in its work to improve the welfare of animals and protect them from neglect and cruelty. Our State Council members are volunteers and all of our centres are run by volunteers. We are so very, very proud of each and every person who makes that crucial decision to support us. Their dedication, their time, their energy and their skills are what make us who we are, and what will make us who we become. With each new volunteer that joins us, our positive impact on the lives of animals grows stronger.
Volunteering just might change your life – it’s changed ours. And it will certainly change the lives of many animals in our care.
You can do that.
"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain. If I can ease once life the aching, or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.” - Emily Dickenson
Please note: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or over due to Public Liability Insurance requirements.
