Your Goal:
You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by caring for and attending to all animals in the care of RSPCA QLD by performing a wide range of duties using best practice in animal husbandry.
Your Key Responsibilities -
In your role you will:
· Perform general husbandry of all animals in care.
· Verbally and visually identify and describe animals.
· Be responsible for Animal Health and Euthanasia.
· Ensure accurate record keeping and data integrity for all animals and persons when using the database ShelterMate.
· Assist with the Animal Adoption Process.
· Participate in Enrichment and Behaviour Programs.
· Adhere to RSPCA Code of Conduct, Polices & Procedures and workplace health and safety regulations
Your Skills & Qualifications -
To succeed in this job you will have:
· Minimum of Certificate III in Companion Animal Services or equivalent.
· Ability to verbally and visually identify and describe animals, for instance the colours, sizes and breeds of different species.
· Proven work experience in the Animal Welfare or Related Industry.
· Excellent Animal Husbandry and Animal Handling Skills.
· Knowledge of the Organisations Policies and Procedures.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, volunteers and other employees of the organisation.
· Good office/computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Database, Internet).
· Knowledge of Organisational Structures and Programs.
· Understanding of long term goals and strategic direction of the organisation.
· Exceptional organisation skills, able to multi task and be multi disciplinary.
· Good time management skills.
· Attention to Detail
· Alignment and adherence to the RSPCA Qld mission, vision and people principles;
· Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling, and an ability to handle a minimum weight of 10 kilos.

Remuneration is as per our Certified Agreement, Shelter Staff, Level 1, Increment 1 (plus casual loading). This is a casual position with the majority of work being performed on the weekend - more hours may be required over the busy periods and to cover any leave requirements. Hours available will vary according to the operational needs of the shelter; however, availability for approximately 6 hrs per week would be required. An immediate start is required and junior rates may apply.

You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by assisting with the overall Shelter Operations, including hands-on care for all animals in the care of RSPCA QLD, and performing a wide range of duties using best practice in animal husbandry, shelter maintenance, and cleanliness and operations management.
Your Key Responsibilities -
In your role you will:
· Maintain and supervise all areas of the shelter operations, including assisting with the Shelter Manager’s tasks when required.
· Provide guidance and support to all Shelter staff around work performance management and training.
· In absence of the Shelter Manager take responsibility for all animal care bringing to the attention of the Shelter Manager directly any issues arising with animals in the shelter.
· Conduct general husbandry of all animals in care, and assisting in Animal Heath and Euthanasia.
· Ensure accurate record keeping and data integrity for all animals and persons on the in use database ShelterMate.
· Participate in, and oversee the animal adoption process the Animal Adoption Process.
· Participate in Enrichment and Behaviour Programs.
· Verbally and visually identify and describe animals.
· Provide ongoing support to the Shelter Manager.
· Perform additional duties as requested by the Shelter Manager.
· Adhere to RSPCA Code of Conduct, Polices & Procedures and workplace health and safety regulations
Your Skills & Qualifications -
To succeed in this job you will have:
· Minimum of Cert III in Companion Animal Services or equivalent.
· Extensive work experience in the Animal Welfare or Related Industry, with some managerial experience preferred.
· Excellent Animal Husbandry and Animal Handling Skills.
· Broad Understanding of the Animal Welfare Industry.
· Extensive Knowledge of the Organisations Policies and Procedures.
· Good Office/Computer skills.
· Knowledge of Organisational Structures and Programs.
· Excellent Staff Management Skills.
· Understanding of long term goals and strategic direction of the organisation.
· Good Mathematical skills (able to provide and interpret statistical data).
· Exceptional organisation skills, able to multi task and be multi disciplinary

This is a temporary full time contract, anticipated for 6 months in duration, based at our Townsville Shelter. The ordinary working hours for the successful incumbent shall be a nominal 40 hours per week, being 38 ordinary hours and two (2) reasonable additional hours including weekend work. An immediate start is required. Remuneration is as per the Certified Agreement for Shelter Staff, Level 4 and Increment 1.
Due to the nature of this temporary contract position, we anticipate that this contract would end after 6 months when we anticipate that the present incumbent will return to the role. However, should the present incumbent give us notice of their intent to return to work before this date, we would then give you four weeks written notice of your contract ending on a date other than that indicated above.

Your Goal:
You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small in the overall public promotion of RSPCA Qld mission and position as the leading animal welfare organisation in Queensland through the coordination of all marketing activities; the promotion of individual departments and regional entities, products, programs and services to increase public awareness, sales and demand.
Your Key Responsibilities -
In your role you will:
· Develop, manage, implement and review the overall marketing strategy for the RSPCA Qld in consultation with key stakeholders within the organisation and in further consultation with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communication
· In consultation with the departments develop, manage, implement and review marketing plans for each key area of the RSPCA Qld including but not limited to fundraising and events, Inspectorate services, shelters and animal services, wildlife, campaigns and public awareness
· Maintain and nurture existing corporate partnerships, and to identify, develop and promote sponsorship and in-kind opportunities
· Research, identify and develop sponsorship requirements within the RSPCA QLD in consultation with department leaders and internal stakeholders with emphasis on building capacity within the Society
· Work closely with the PR Officer to further develop the RSPCA Qld online presence with particular emphasis on online fundraising, social media and viral marketing and use new media to underpin the organisations future marketing direction
· Provide expert marketing advice to the senior management team to support and promote organisational and fundraising initiatives
· Develop, support and implement integrated organisation-wide strategies, products and promotions to achieve stated goals and to position RSPCA Qld as the leading animal welfare organisation in Queensland
· Develop communications and marketing strategies to increase sponsorship income for regional shelters
· Develop and maintain the marketing and communications strategy to further develop the Societies Workplace Giving programme on a state wide and National basis
· Facilitate and support the coordinated promotion and branding/position of RSPCA Qld, ensuring that these activities complement and support the marketing strategies and to ensure quality and consistent communications across the state
· In conjunction with the Media Manager negotiate and implement media partnerships on behalf of RSPCA Qld
· Oversee the production and distribution of all print and electronic material
· Oversee RSPCA Qld branding including recognition of corporate supporters
· In liaison with the Public Relations Officer develop and oversee the maintenance of RSPCA Qld’s website
· Lead, motivate and manage the marketing and communications team in the achievement of agreed targets and objectives
· Work closely and complimentarily with the Media Manager to maximise all marketing and PR opportunities
· Develop, maintain and nurture strong relationships with key external stakeholders to promote the best interests of RSPCA Qld
· Provide regular reports to the Director of Fundraising on areas of responsibility.
· Attend and participate in strategic planning and team meetings as required
· Provide expert advice on product, market trends and competitor intelligence

Your Skills & Qualifications -
To succeed in this job you will have:
· You will have completed a degree or higher qualification in a relevant area with relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training.
· You will have spent a number of years as a marketing professional for a high profile organisation leading a team
· Significant experience in the development of online marketing, social media and online sales or fundraising campaigns.
· Significant experience in brand management and brand development
· Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal relationship skills
· Significant experience in building and managing relationships including sponsorships, supporters and media
· Experience in the development and implementation process of large marketing or capital campaigns
· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks
· Relevant experience in developing and implementing strategies leading to long term organisational or industry growth.
· Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
