RSPCA Qld Humane Education Services

“Inspiring responsible and caring behaviour towards animals”

The RSPCA Qld Humane Education Department is committed to changing the hearts and minds of children and adults throughout Queensland, so they can better understand how to care for animals – and how their behaviours can impact upon animals.

All of our Humane Education programs are based on the belief that empathy can in fact be learned, and that education is the RSPCA’s most powerful weapon in changing attitudes and behaviour towards animals.

During 2005/6, the Humane Education Team’s dedicated staff and volunteers reached more than 65,000 people through a range of education programs – the EMU (Education Mobile Unit), school visits, community events, shelter tours and AVA PetPEP.

Find out more about our education services and help children and the wider community learn to care for and respect all creatures great and small.
