How you can help
The live export trade will continue until the Australian government recognises it as an inherently cruel practice and bans it.
RSPCA Australia has joined a global coalition of animal welfare organisations to launch the "Handle with Care" campaign, demands an end to the long distance transport of animals for slaughter.
To help RSPCA Qld succeed in its long-running battle to end the Live Export Trade, we urge you to write or e-mail the Prime Minister and the Minister for Agriculture Tony Burke MP. You should also contact your local federal member.

You can also help to end the suffering caused by the long distance transport of livestock within Australia by purchasing free range meat or humanely produced meat. If unsure, ask your butcher if the meat was produced locally. Livestock that have been farmed closer to the location of sale are less likely to have endured the suffering associated with long distance transport.
